Seed phrase protection

7 minute read · beginner

A seed phrase can recreate the private keys for a wallet. Anyone who has it can move the funds, usually without reversal.

Write it offline. Do not screenshot it. Do not store it in email, chat, or a cloud backup a stranger recommended.

JC, Whop, wallet brands, and support agents will never need it. A form that asks for it is theft.

If you think a seed was exposed, move funds from a new wallet created on a device you trust, after you stop using the compromised one.
