Smart contracts

8 minute read · advanced

A smart contract is a program stored on a blockchain. If it holds tokens, whoever can call its functions can move those tokens according to the code, including bugs.

Upgrade keys, proxy patterns, and admin roles matter as much as the happy-path docs. An audited badge is a report, not a guarantee.

Read the contract address from the project's own site, then confirm it in a block explorer. JC listings are a starting point, not a safety certificate.

Never sign a transaction you cannot explain. Unlimited allowances are how many drains start.

Wallet safety

Always verify links through the project's official channels. Never provide your seed phrase or private key.
