Wallet security
10 minute read · beginner
Write your seed phrase on paper or a metal backup. Store it offline. Never type it into a website, chat, or 'support' form. No legitimate platform needs it.
Bookmark official URLs. Phishing sites copy layouts and ask you to 'sync' or 'validate' a wallet. That is how keys get stolen.
Use a hardware wallet for funds you cannot afford to lose. Keep a small hot wallet for experiments. Do not approve unlimited token allowances for unknown contracts.
If a site asks you to sign a message, read it. Blind signing is a common way malicious contracts drain wallets. Revoke unused approvals on a reputable explorer when you are done with a protocol.
